We’ve hand picked the team to lead Extreme Adventure Kids and give every trip that dedication and expert knowledge that our EAK’ers have become to expect.
Here’s a run down of just some of the fantastic people behind the adventures…
![]() » Freya BA (Hons), PGCE Freya loves new adventures and crazy adrenalin sports. She worked as a ski instructor in Canada before making her way to Central America as an Expedition Leader, befriending scorpions in the jungle of Belize and trekking through the mountains of Guatemala. Freya is currently teaching in London and in her spare time she enjoys rock climbing, triathlon and eating chocolate. |
![]() » Mark BA (Hons), PGCE, MSc, MEd Mark is really a fish! He is crazy about water-sports and has travelled extensively around the world. He taught in a school in Kenya before sailing tall ships and yachts across the Atlantic Ocean. In his spare time Mark can be found either sinking 30m below sea level or climbing over snow-capped summits. Mark is currently teaching in Berkshire and is in training for the Marathon Des Sables. |
![]() » Alistair BSc (Hons), PGCE Alastair is a DIY kind of guy – he completed conservation work in Belize building a school and has travelled extensively through the Americas. Alastair is currently teaching in London and in his spare time he enjoys whizzing down ski slopes, kite surfing and learning new tricks on his water skis. |
![]() » Hannah BA (Hons), MA, PGCE Hannah is a super-talented musician and has worked in Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank. She is currently working in London as a composer and music animateur, directing educational projects for orchestras and opera houses across the UK. She enjoys skiing, sky-diving and salsa dancing. |
![]() » Kate BSc (Hons), PGCE Kate is all about having fun. She even smiled her way through the London marathon. She worked in an orphanage in Tanzania before making her way to Kenya to teach in a school for two years. Kate is currently teaching in Somerset and in her spare time she enjoys trekking and playing hockey for her local team. |
![]() » Alex BA (Hons), PGCE, MSc, MEd Alex is the king of Bungee Jumping totaling 13 different jumps around the world. He has travelled extensively through South Africa and Asia. He is mad on rugby and is soon jetting off to play for teams in Uruguay and New York. He is currently teaching in London and in his spare time he enjoys skiing and scuba diving. |
![]() » Rich BSc (Hons), GTP Rich has just married Kate! He has lived in Australia and in Kenya for three years before a herd of kangaroos chased him back to England. Rich is currently teaching in Somerset and in his spare time he enjoys travelling around the world and playing hockey. He has endless enthusiasm and is very passionate about the wonders of nature. |
![]() » Ellie BSc (Hons), PGCE Ellie is fluent in sign language and has volunteered as a communicator for the National Deaf Children’s Society for many years. She has worked on marine conservation projects in Borneo and has travelled through South America and Malaysia. Ellie teaches in London and she enjoys playing hockey and relaxing with a spot of yoga. |
