Health & Safety
The safety of your children is our primary concern especially due to the exciting range of activities, which we offer.
EAK offers a first class staff to pupil ratio on all of our adventures which provides an exceptionally high standard of care and supervision. When schools book adventures with us we stipulate that the ratio of teacher to pupil should fall within our guidelines. Extreme Adventure Kids employs qualified instructors and licensed guides for all of our activities in the UK and abroad. All of the instructors and local guides are English speaking. We believe that this, coupled with EAK staff experience, offers the best combination for the care of your child. Our staff are hand picked for their experience in working with children, their extensive knowledge of travel and their energetic and vivacious personalities! We take the words ‘in loco parentis’ very seriously. All our members of staff are qualified teachers and we have many years of experience working as ‘boarding house parents’. We are dedicated to keeping your children happy and healthy during these exciting adventures, twenty-four hours a day.
EAK are fully aware of their responsibilities under The Health and Safety at Work Act l974 and other Health & Safety legislation relevant to EAK’s operation. In order to meet and exceed these responsibilities, we regard Health & Safety to be of paramount importance and give it the highest priority. The objective of a Health & Safety Policy is to minimise risks to children, staff and others by EAK’s activities, by identifying and then controlling hazards.
EAK ensures the highest safety standards at every level. Naturally we follow national guidelines and operate fully comprehensive risk assessments for all of the activities that we offer in the UK and abroad. Our risk assessments are constantly updated and risks are monitored continually throughout each trip to allow for seasonal weather conditions, timings and other unexpected hazards.
The children carry a personal information card with them at all times which details emergency contacts and medical information. They will also be asked to sign a contract of ‘good behaviour’ before they depart on the adventure, which is part of our booking terms and conditions. EAK staff are all first aid trained and we have a member of staff on each trip who is in charge of our emergency procedures to immediately access medical facilities in the unusual circumstances that we may need them. We have a comprehensive first aid kit with us at all times.
Our fantastic staff training ensures that EAK staff place safety first. This enables the children to feel safe in our care so that you can relax. They will return home bursting with excitement and equipped with a plethora of stories to share with you!
