Altitude & Health

The biggest enemy on Kilimanjaro is most likely to be the altitude. We take the accent slowly to allow for adequate acclimatization and this gives everyone their best chance of reaching the summit. The breathable oxygen at the top is less than half the amount than is common at sea level, and climbers cover at least eighty kilometres on nothing but their own two feet. Although it is possible to simply trek a route to the pinnacle of Kilimanjaro without relying on professional climbing equipment, it remains a hard and serious endeavour which requires a good level of physical fitness, stamina and most of all grit determination!

Health & Safety
We take health and safety extremely seriously. Our ascent is led by a highly qualified and experienced guides who are registered with Kilimanjaro National Parks Board. Our EMK staff are all experienced mountaineers and we offer a first class staff to adventurer ratio. Please read the information regarding vaccinations and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us via email.
