FAQs

Can we enter more than one POD on the challenge?
Schools, groups, families and friends may enter as many PODS on the challenge as they wish. The adult/group leader in each POD travels free. We pride ourselves on our 100% safety record and to help us achieve this we have first class ratios between children and adults.

Can additional teachers or parents come too?
Yes. Additional adults may travel with each POD. This gives other staff and parents the opportunity to take part in the challenge. We welcome enthusiastic and fun loving adults on the challenge! Additional adults booking at the same time as the group are able to travel for the same price as a child.

Do we need any specific training to take part in this challenge?
You do not need any specific training to take part in this challenge. Mount Triglav involves walking, scrambling and via ferrata (all equipment supplied including hard helmets). This two day climb does require a good level of fitness – we advise the teachers and parents who take part in this expedition are active and enjoy physical exercise. The children also need to be active and healthy – if they take part in school sport each week then they will easily cope with the climb. You do not need to have any knowledge or previous experience of mountaineering to take part – just enthusiasm and a smile! We will invite each group leader to an orientation evening where we will discuss the risk assessments and final details with you. This gives you the opportunity to meet our EAK leaders and ask any questions you may have about the trip. We will talk through the kit list, giving you plenty of time to prepare your POD for departure.

Does Extreme Adventure Kids supply risk assessments?
We supply detailed risk assessments for the whole trip which cover the travel, accommodation and the activities on the adventure. Please note that these risk assessments are supplied purely as a guide for reference only to reduce the paperwork load of the teacher/group leader taking part on this challenge. We do our best to supply accurate and up to date information however EAK cannot hold any liability for the information written or absent in this paperwork.

Are there any hidden extras?
No. This is an all inclusive trip from our London departure point at Victoria Coach Station; however we do not include transport to the London departure point from your school. Travel insurance; please see our booking conditions clause 17. The expedition price does not include hire of tents because we have found that most teams like to bring their own. We will gladly assist you in supplying tents for your group, please just tell us at the time of booking. In a POD with family and friends extra adult surcharges may apply. The children may like to bring some pocket money to spend on souvenirs in the local shops for postcards or souvenirs.
